SCRIPTURE: “For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” (Romans 9:15 KJV)
QUOTE: “God loves each of us equally.” -Kate Gosselin.
NOTE:
We shall investigate the attributes of God’s love so that we can stand firm in that love of God and enjoy all of the goodness of God. Attributes refers to characteristics of someone or something. We have established here already that love is the nature of God, that is, love is who God is. God does not have an evil meter with which He measures all your evil.
Scriptures categorically declares that if God should reckon our sins, shortcomings, wrong doings, no one will be able to stand before the Lord. The love of God helps us to live right, to be godly and to be sober. God loves you with an eternal love that cannot be erased because of your wrongdoing.
This means that God’s love is unconditional.
The love of God is not dependent on what you do or don’t do. The love of God is for all mankind, irrespective of your gender, social status, educational background, race, tribe, tongue and the likes. God does not select who He will love and who He will not love.
ILLUSTRATION:
In the parable of the lost sheep, we see again the unconditional love of God in display. A man had an 100 sheep and 1 was missing, the Shepherd keep the 99 sheep somewhere and went searching for the sheep that was lost until he found it. No sinner is beyond the love of God, none! The love of God rubs on all.
REFLECTION:
- In demonstrating love, are you selective?
