FAITH REMINDERS: FAITH GROWS

SCRIPTURE: The apostles said unto the Lord, “Increase our faith!”  (Luke 17:5, NIV)

QUOTE: It takes greater faith to dance in the dark than to rest in light. -Matshona Dhliwayo.

NOTE:

Faith can be increased! You can go from faith to faith, and the only limit to it, is the will of God. No matter what your current situation is, it is a good place to start from, just get going believing; putting one foot ahead of the other. Perhaps, staring with everything seemingly in place may not be the best after all.

That in itself can be delusional, giving you a false sense of advantage. Whatever level you are currently is a good place to start up, and keep moving. As a leader, if you dare want to achieve more under God, you need to put a stretch on your faith level, and grow it to believe more. There is more to life than where you are, and there is more in God than what you have. Romans 1 verse 17 says; “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall live by faith”.

Where you are is a starting point, with focus, relentless dedication, a well guided and guarded passion, you will reach the zenith of your possibilities. However, it will take you growing your faith to receive all that God has in store for you. You can start up today, by believing more.

ILLUSTRATION:

Probably, one of the greatest human examples of “believing more” is Abraham Lincoln. Born into poverty, Lincoln was faced with defeat throughout his life. He lost eight elections, twice failed in business and suffered a nervous breakdown. He could have quit many times but he didn’t. Each failure grew his faith to reach out for more, higher and better goals, than he failed. He eventually became one of the greatest presidents in the history of America.

REFLECTION:

  1. Are you growing your faith and reaching out for more, or you simply maintaining status quo?
