SCRIPTURE: “And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.” Gen. 22:13 (KJV)
QUOTE: “A little “thank you” that you will say to someone for a “little favour” shown to you is a key to unlock the doors that hide unseen “greater favours”. Learn to say “thank you” and why not? ― Israelmore Ayivor.
NOTE:
Divine help is God’s right to render or not to render, however, sometimes, this is provoked by some actions of men e.g., Solomon provoked God’s help and favour by sacrificing 1000 rams in a day and God helped him to enjoy peace, prosperity, popularity, and such wisdom never displayed by man. Apart from the act of sacrifice, one can draw the hand of God upon his situation by other means, like righteousness (Ps. 45:7), etc.
ILLUSTRATION: “And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son that in blessing I will bless thee……..” Gen. 22:16.
REFLECTION:
- Have you ever attempted to provoke divine help before?
- Do you believe it works?
