DISCIPLINE FOR SUCCESS 3

SCRIPTURE: “Behold, blessed is the one whom God reproves; therefore, despise not the discipline of the Almighty. (Job 5:17)

QUOTE: “Small disciplines repeated with consistency every day lead to great achievements gained slowly over time.” – John C. Maxwell

NOTE:

Discipline is the price of obedience that we pay to enjoy success. Many leaders are aware that success always comes with a price. This is the reason why we can never find a successful leader who did not pay the price of discipline yet has secured success. God will every now and always reproves leaders who he wants to make use of to effect a change either positively or negatively.  We must recognize also that God’s success plan in any leadership system is not a promise, but a covenant; therefore, until our part is adequately played, God is not committed to delivering.

ILLUSTRATION:

In Genesis chapter 11, we saw a crop of people who were so addicted, focused and disciplined in construction of a tower to ensure they can see God.  Therefore, they decided to build this tower toward heaven and were so committed to their daily task that we saw the tower rising from one level to another. The Lord saw that such a leadership system built on discipline and unity can achieve anything and hence He created a language barrier that halted their task.

REFLECTION:

What role do you play in the leadership system you’re operating with?
