DISCIPLINE FOR SUCCESS 8

SCRIPTURE: A wise son hears his father’s instruction, but a scoffer does not listen to rebuke. Proverbs 13:1

QUOTE “Self-control is the chief element in self-respect, and self-respect is the chief element in courage.”  –Thucydides

NOTE:

Discipline is the sole of an army. It keeps them united in purpose. Everyone is responsible for the outcome of their life by choosing discipline or indiscipline. But please note, It takes high-level discipline to make high-level achievements. There is no aspect in life where indiscipline pays, whether in education, ministry, industry, government, or politics. This is because, without discipline, life slips off, opportunities are lost and destinies are destroyed. (e.g Samson, Ammon, and Achan). You shall not end as a victim of indiscipline in Jesus name.

ILLUSTRATION:

Ammon one of the sons of King David shattered his destiny by indiscipline. A king’s son who had the privilege to marry anyone he desires started having crazy thoughts in his heart about his half-sister Tamar. 2 Samuel 13:1-20.  To worsen the situation he told his friend Jonadab and he gave him a strategy on what to do. He took the advice of Jonadab and succeeded raping his sister but was killed by Absalom two years later because of that grievous act he committed.  He died, lost his life by indiscipline.

REFLECTION:

  1. What choice are you making today to enjoy success? Discipline or indiscipline
  2. Your future will be determined by the choices of discipline you make today.
