SCRIPTURE: Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:58, NKJV)
QUOTE: People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well neither does bathing- That is why we recommend it daily -Zig Ziglar.
NOTE:
Motivation is key to any kind of success in life. However, we are constantly expose to situations and scenarios that are potent enough to dwindle our motivation and question our strong “why”, such like this season we found ourselves globally. Down time moments like this, are what separate leaders from jokers, champions from failures and players from spectators. Challenges abound, everything is shot down, dreams are aborted, and aspirations are cut short. Here is a time to stay motivated more than ever before. In the words of Paul to the Corinthians – to stand firm- until we overcome this storm, You can’t resign to an existence without hope, you need to stay motivated and be on top of situations.
Never allow present experiences to shift your focus and abort future opportunities. William Blake rightly said; “There are no mistakes as great as the mistake of not going on”. There will be light at the end of this tunnel. Till then, you must tread the lonely path of solitude and ingest self-motivation as a daily pill.
ILLUSTRATION:
November 9, 2014. Thomas Edison the great inventor at 67years stood and watched helplessly as the great Edison Industries was destroyed by fire. Edison lost millions and most of his life’s work in the flames. His response the next morning was, “there’s great value in disaster, and all our mistakes are burnt up! Thank God we can start anew”. 21 days later, Edison delivered his next invention- the Gramophone.
REFLECTION:
These are perilous times, no doubt beloved. However, will you rather grow wings or buy crutches?
