SCRIPTURE: So, watch your step. Use your head. Make the most of every chance you get. These are desperate times! (Ephesians 5:16, MSG)
QUOTE: Yesterday is a cancelled cheque; tomorrow is a promissory note; today is the only cash you have, so spend it wisely. -Kay Lyons
NOTE:
Time doesn’t fly, often times it is men who crawl. As leaders, for us to accelerate our success rate, it is imperative to develop the habit of seizing every moment. Time is of the essence, to make the most of your life, you have to invariably make the most of your time. This period holds within it rare opportunities. It is your responsibility as a go-getter to see through opportunities that disguise as challenges and make the most of them.
You can’t afford to join the statistics of people who laze around and fritter away their time in meaningless ventures. It is Time we barter always, for a life that is better. Often, we live in oblivion of the reality that we don’t have all the time in the world. More reason we must by practice, learn how to break the backbone of procrastination and engage urgency in our daily dealings. Today, embrace the habit of doing what you want to do, now! We are not living in eternity, we have only this moment. Why wait for someday, when you could start today?
ILLUSTRATION:
John Goddard at the tender age of 12 understood what it takes to seize every moment of his life. He sat down and made a list of 127 things he wanted to accomplish in his lifetime. 127! It sounds like a fairy tale. But John Goddard wanted to explore the world’s major rivers, climb the world’s 16 highest mountains, learn to fly a plane, read the Bible through severally and lots more. At age 50, he did accomplish more than a hundred of these goals.
REFLECTION:
Evaluate your habit; do you leave till tomorrow what you can do today?
