SCRIPTURE: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:28-29 NKJV)
QUOTE: “Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen, and a push in the right direction.” — John Crosby
NOTE:
To develop properly as a mentee you must learn about the quality of your mentors investment and commitment to time management, work ethics and discipline. Nobody gets anywhere without following a pattern and living anyhow. The following of these specific patterns coordinated by a coach or superiors is called mentorship. Following the footprints of giants is a task because every of his step is a broad and long jump. Therefore, mentees must be committed to doing so, so they can also become role models. You can’t easily walk in the steps of giants by walking leisurely. Show me a man without a mentor and I will show you a man that may never bear any trace of leadership. This is because every great leader is an offspring of another.
ILLUSTRATION:
Bishop Oyedepo said he began climbing on the ladder of Kenneth E. Hagin since 1976. “I started climbing on Kenneth Copeland’s ladder since 1977 and I am still celebrating this ladder till today including those who has passed”. He said, it was the ladder of T.L Osborn I climbed to learn how to hear from God and I celebrated him till he passed on in 2013, I am still celebrating him till today. You don’t only need a ladder to go up, you need a ladder to stay there. He said ” I have never known a downward trend because the forces that were used to help me up are still highly esteemed and will be highly esteemed until life is over”
REFLECTION:
- What ladders are you climbing to get to your desired goal?
- Are you among those that make comments like it doesn’t matter?
