LOVE REMINDERS: LOVE IS GIVING

SCRIPTURE: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16 KJV)

QUOTE: “There can be giving without love, but there is no love without giving.” – Anonymous.

NOTE:

Giving up something you consider valuable for the sake of someone is an undeniable expression of love. The measurement of love is giving. It is an index of how much you love someone. When His loved the world, He gave his only begotten son. We cannot be believers and do less than what Jesus expressed in 1 John 3:16, He gave Himself for us. Beloved, the highest and noblest expression of God’s love is sacrifice. There is no love without commensurate giving. If you claim to love someone with your heart, you must invariably express it with gifts in your hands. It is not enough to say it, we must prove it. What you give speaks loader than a million love words. Giving is a powerful key to connect with someone, and it’s still potent to opening doors to endless love.

ILLUSTRATION:

A president of an organization once sought out a world renowned Zen master, to unload his lofty business ideas. The Zen master without provoking much response, began to pour tea into a teacup until it overflowed the cup and spread across the grass mat. Bewildered, the president asked why?. The Zen master replied: Your life is like a teacup, flowing over. There’s no room for anything new. You need to pour out, not take more in.

REFLECTION:

Today, what will you give for the sake of love?
