SCRIPTURE: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7 KJV)
QUOTE: “Life is nothing but the expansion of love. We can cultivate divine love by entering into the Source. The Source is God, who is all Love.” – Sri Chinmoy
NOTE:
Love is a spirit. The exact spirit of God embodies the fruit of love. And He hasn’t given us the spirit of fear but the spirit of love. So, we have the capacity to love people no matter who they are, or what they do. The ability to love people regardless of their faults. That’s the divine love, The ‘Agape’ love.
As leaders, we must learn to love and help people before we try to influence them. Love them before they listen to you. Love them while bringing them out of the world. God’s love doesn’t permit us to hate anybody. It doesn’t permit us to be bitter, overly angry or hateful. Only the love for the land and its people will lead us to impact our nations. If we must change our world, we must yearn for the Spirit of love. For divine love is the strongest bonding agent in the universe.
ILLUSTRATION:
Benjamin Franklin epitomized this concept of divine love with his entire life. Franklin will ask himself every morning, “what good shall I do today?” and in the evening, “what good have I done today?” His sense of love was aiding his fellow human beings and doing good to society. This was, in his understanding, divine Love!
REFLECTION:
You have the spirit of love, how will you express it differently, today?
