BREAKING NEW GROUNDS: TRUST

SCRIPTURE: “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” (Matthew 11:29 KJV)

QUOTE: “Obstacles are what you see when you take your eyes off your goals.” – Brian Tracy

NOTE:

Breaking new ground is about leaning more on God’s abilities and this in turn is tied to our commitment to creating our desired change or future. Leaning on God to break new grounds simply means doing as the Lord command us. This is because his ways are not our ways. the ways of God are the high ways of life and only those who follow that way are likely to become high flyers in the race of life and break new grounds.

ILLUSTRATION:

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

(John 15:5-6 NIV)

REFLECTION:

  1. Who do you look up to when you approach cross roads in your life?
  2. How patient are you with God when it seems He’s not forthcoming?
