SCRIPTURE: “And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” (Hab. 2:2 KJV)

QUOTE: Good business leaders create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision, and relentlessly drive it to completion. – Jack Welch.”

NOTE:

Setting a clear vision is essential for achieving success in any area of life. Whether you’re an individual, a team, or an organization, having a clear and compelling vision helps you stay focused, motivated, and on track towards your goals. It is also crucial for accomplishing long-term goals. A vision statement serves as a guiding light, providing direction and purpose for individuals and organizations. It is a statement that outlines the aspirations and desired outcomes in the future. To set a clear vision, you should start by defining your team’s purpose, and why you want to achieve what you want to achieve. This purpose will help in setting long-term goals that align with the team’s values and beliefs. It is essential to communicate the vision statement to other members of the team and to ensure they fully comprehend it as it helps in creating a shared understanding, commitment and ownership.

ILLUSTRATION:

Rick Warren, the founder and Senior Pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California is the perfect example of a leader that sets clear team vision. He is best known for his book “The Purpose Driven Life.” At his church, He emphasizes the importance of having a clear vision, both for himself and for his team. He identified five clear visions that drive the church’s mission: worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and evangelism, he communicated same to his team and together they have built an outstanding work. They have also focused on three key strategies: clarity, alignment, and execution. He believes that a clear vision is essential for creating alignment and empowering team members to execute effectively. To achieve clarity, Warren and his team have worked to articulate the church’s mission and values in a way that is simple and easy to understand.

They have also emphasized the importance of communication, both within the team and with the broader community. To create alignment, they focused on building a culture of trust, accountability, and collaboration. He encouraged team members to share their ideas and perspectives openly, and worked to ensure that everyone is working toward the same goals. Finally, to ensure effective execution, they emphasize the importance of setting clear goals and metrics, and holding team members accountable for delivering results. He also encouraged team members to take ownership of their work and be willing to make adjustments as needed to achieve success.
