THE NECESSITY OF PERSONAL EFFECTIVENESS

SCRIPTURE: “At Iconium Paul and Barnabas went as usual into the Jewish synagogue. There they spoke so effectively that a great number of Jews and Greeks believed” Acts 14:1 (NIV)

QUOTE: “You can only be fulfilled and accomplished in life when you effectively maximize yourself” – Sunday Adelaja

NOTES:

If we are going to lead a successful and fulfilling life, we must increase the level of our personal effectiveness. What is Personal Effectiveness? Simply put, it means getting the best out of yourself. It’s an approach to success that involves utilizing all of your resources, energy, skill and motivation to develop and reach the goals you set for yourself and make the progress you aspire to. Individuals with good personal effectiveness tend to constantly strive to achieve more, advance their careers and grow in both a personal and professional sense. A high level of personal effectiveness is important because it helps you feel more satisfied and accomplished.

Developing personal effectiveness is also important because it allows you to sit down and really think about what it is that you want to achieve in life, at work and from your relationships. People who make detailed plans and have an idea of where they are going tend to be more likely to meet their goals and they’re also more likely to consistently make progress.

ILLUSTRATION:

From our scriptural text in Acts 14:1, the Bible says Paul and Barnabas spoke so effectively that a great number of Jews and Greeks believed. The level of result they had was directly proportional to the level of their personal effectiveness. Personal effectiveness is the key to getting results and making progress and advancement in life, career or business.

REFLECTION:

  1. Are you satisfied with the result you currently have?
  2. What is the level of your personal effectiveness and how can you improve it?
