LIES IN LEADERSHIP 3

SCRIPTURE: “They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.” Hosea 7:3 KJV

QUOTE: “Lies and secrets are like a cancer in the soul. They eat away what is good and leave only destruction behind.” -Cassandra Clare

NOTE:

Don’t ever claim you’re too smart to lie or too spiritual to lie. The lying spirit is no respecter of any personality, whether, male or female; rich or poor; educated or illiterate. Almost anybody can lie. Therefore we must by the help of the Holy Spirit and the deliberate discipline endeavour to be conscious and aware of it before it overtakes us.

The father of all lies is Satan Anyone who doesn’t love or go for the truth will likely have a preference for lying. Please note that with God, there are no differences in the kinds of lies people tell (i.e. white lies, fabrications, exaggerations, bold face lies, rumor mongering etc.)  That means by God’s standard, a lie is anything devoid of the truth or whatever distorts the truth. Even when a lie is told to a man, it is nonetheless a sin against God.

ILLUSTRATION:

And the LORD said, ‘Who will entice Ahab to march up and fall at Ramoth-gilead?’ And one suggested this, and another that. Then a spirit came forward, stood before the LORD, and said, ‘I will entice him.’ ‘By what means?’ asked the LORD. And he replied, ‘I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouths of all his prophets.’ (1kings 22:20-22 KJV)

REFLECTION:

  1. Where will all Liars end up at last, when all is said and done?
  2. Are there lies you need to repent of?
