ESSENTIAL LEADERSHIP DECISIONS FOR PERFORMANCE OPTIMIZATION: END THIS YEAR BETTER THAN YOU STARTED

SCRIPTURE: “Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would increase abundantly.” (Job 8:7)

QUOTE: “I realized the secret to success is finishing! And not just finishing but finishing strong!”  –Eric Thomas

NOTE:

That you will finish this year better than you started is both a prophecy and the mind of God for you. You however know too well that prophecies require certain spiritual, mental and physical environments for full expression and performance. Let’s start with your mind because as a man thinks in his heart, so he is. Can you see a bigger glory for you, your household, your ministry, your organization etc. with your eyes of the spirit?

Have you settled it that the previous failures, setbacks, limitations and possibly bankruptcy of the past are truly issues of the past; they do not define who you are? You can experience failure but that does not make you a failure. Failing or falling is not a problem but staying on the floor is. You can turn your set back into a set up for your get up! What are you doing differently for a different and a better result? Sure you still remember that to keep doing the old things, the same old way and expect a different result is mere day dreaming and building a castle in the air.

Are there better, cheaper and faster ways of doing what you were doing before? What new relationships and partnerships are you exploring? What new opportunities are you stepping into? What are your mitigants against risks or you are simply saying ‘God forbid’? Are your processes and methodologies flexible or rigid? Are you proactive or reactive? A preacher once said while it is true that we all have high callings in God, individuals determine how high they want to go. You want double result? Get ready for double work. I see you on the top.

ILLUSTRATION:

Apple’s Mac made an unprecedented sale in comparison to other PCs. That was never a happenstance. It was planned. It took a lot of thinking outside of the box. It took uncommon imaginations. It took a lot of hard work. It took many things, but the result paid off. Peak results are possible but there are price tags on them.

REFLECTION:

List a few definite areas where you want to finish this year better than you started. What will be the sacrifices that will guarantee accomplishments?
